The
design
The proposed building would be of a high quality design, using sustainable materials with low embodied carbon. The primary colours that will be used are black and red, reflecting the Fire and Rescue Service.
The refurbished building will target a low carbon status and all materials will be assessed against their environmental impact. Green spaces are to be incorporated into the design to enhance biodiversity and provide habitat for local flora and fauna.
The proposed redevelopment of the site will also comprise enhanced landscaping. This will include:
Planting of four new trees
Introduction of grassed areas
Introduction of wildflower areas
A high-quality outdoor space will be created through the provision of an outdoor seating area with benches for the fire service members to use.
